Steve's Bio:
Steven Plaisance- President of Mortgage Banking, Gateway First Bank
As Gateway First Bank’s President of Mortgage Banking, Steven Plaisance oversees all things mortgage, including retail, correspondent, operations, secondary marketing, and servicing.
Prior to joining Gateway, Steven worked at Arvest Bank for nearly 32 years. He started as a bank teller and worked his way up through mortgage with extensive experience in secondary and capital markets. He would serve as President and CEO of Arvest Bank’s mortgage division including its subsidiary Arvest Central Mortgage Company from 2015 through February of 2021.
Steven has been active in the industry throughout his career, serving on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac advisory boards. He has been active in the Mortgage Bankers Association, going back to his graduation of the Future Leaders Program in 1998. Steven currently serves as the 2021-22 Chairman of the MBA’s Mortgage Action Alliance. He is also on the MBA Investment Committee, MBA Consumer Affairs Advisory Council, and the MBA Residential Board of Governors.
Steven, his wife Katy, and their 3 boys and 2 Goldendoodles reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
